WHY THIS SHOULD HAPPEN: TEAM ANGLE TO ROH

SHELTON BENJAMIN AND CHARLIE HAAS
IN RING OF HONOR

I was listening to
Between The Ropes earlier today (the post-WrestleMania podcast) and Fritz briefly mentioned how Charlie Haas was publicly suggesting Shelton Benjamin to leave WWE when his contract is up. I was like "that's awesome," and thought nothing more of it.

Then I read Fritz's FanHouse interview with Haas and realized just how smack-yourself-in-the-face awesome this could be. Here's what I'm talking about:

Well Charlie, enjoy your freedom right now while it lasts.
I will. Believe me, I will. Everyone calls me and is like 'Charlie, are you OK?'. I've never been happier, trust me. And I've got one thing to say: Shelton, your (WWE) contract is coming up - don't sign! Please don't sign. You can go elsewhere. I'm telling you, there's life outside (WWE). We can go to TNA together. We can go to Ring of Honor together. Don't sign back. I'm going to get him more money that way.

Imagine.

Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas.

Team Angle.

The World's Greatest Tag Team.

In Ring of Honor.

I would mark out so hard that I would probably DDT my laptop.

It's such a long shot, but Charlie Haas openly admits to being very interested in Ring of Honor's wrestling style, right after explaining how he does not fit in with WWE's "Hollywood" direction that is more interested in entertainers than wrestlers.

Ring of Honor, with the Young Bucks leaving, the Wolves wrestling mostly singles, and Steenerico breaking up, has a definite hole in a once UNSTOPPABLE tag team division. Haas and Benjamin would tear shit up, and I think they would get a more than warm welcome from the ROH fans.

These are two guys who have been stuck doing a whole lot of nothing (Haas more notably) lately. If it's true that Shelton's contract is indeed coming up... this could definitely be a possibility.

If not, I would still settle for Charlie Haas in ROH. He is an absolute beast.

Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, The World's Greatest Tag Team, in Ring of Honor. This should happen.
